MINITON is the new modified version of the Olympic and Commonwealth Games sport - BADMINTON! It’s where shuttlers begin and where boys and girls first learn their smash from their net shots. MINITON is especially designed for children aged between 5-10 years and is conducted in a fun, non-competitive environment. MINITON resembles badminton however has lower nets, smaller rackets, smaller court dimensions and relaxed rules. The Queensland Badminton Association can help deliver MINITON in your primary school in two ways: A qualified coach can come and deliver the program directly to your students. For between 5-10 weeks your students will have the opportunity to learn the basic fundamental skills of badminton. We bring all the rackets, shuttles and even the nets and net posts! or You can deliver the program yourself. With the help of Badminton Australia two new resources have been produced so that you can deliver the program to your own students. Badiskills contains six lesson plans to help teach the basics of the badminton while Badminton Fun Activities and Games contains over 80 games and activities that you can take your students through in helping to develop their skills.
